I have a friend, in Portland, OR who has 2 iPhones & now an iPad 3G/wi-fi. He was doing fine on the iPad, until it came time to renew his ATT contract for the iPad, which he did.

Now all he's getting is "no service" on the iPad. His 2 iPhones are still working fine.

Anyone have this happen to them? He's a techy geek type....is it Apple? the iPad? or ATT. He's puzzled. I could offer no insights as my iPad in another town is working fine.

    Thanks.

Can you remove the sim in the iPhone and put in the iPad to see if he still gets no service

either there is no cellphone coverage ('no service') in the area or ipad plan may have been canceled somehow.

He should go on wifi and check his AT&T plan to see if it is active.
