My wife and I each have an iPad, but only one iTunes account. We wanted it like this to begin with so that we could share paid apps. This has not been a problem until now. Now I am giving up this iPad 1, moving on to an iPad 3.

Do we share the same iCloud for backup?

Will my data be overwritten by hers if she does a backup after me?

How can two iPads share the same iTunes and iCloud? Or do we need separate accounts?

Thanks.

Hi, welcome to iPF!

If you use the same iCloud account, it will create a backup for each device, and they shouldn't be overwritten by each other. (You could easier differentiate between the two devices, if you decide to change their names.) In iCloud, you'll see something like this, when you look at your backups:

If you prefer it this way, stay with one iTunes and iCloud account for all your devices.
