So I could plug this in by my mixer and run an audio cable to my mixer and then send music wirelessly from my iPad through this to my mixer? Nothing additional needed?

Yes, you use a 3.5mm cable to connect the AirPortExpress with your speakers/mixer and than on your iPad, you just choose to stream all audio to the AirPortExpress, instead of playing the sound with the iPad speakers.

Nothing else needed and works great. For me, the APE is the best iPad accessory I have bought.
