Transfer MP4 via itunes

I have some MP4 files created from DVD's (ripped with MagicDVDRipper). These are all playable in itunes and most can be transferred to the ipad. However, some come up with an error mesage saying cannot be transferred, unknown error (-69). anyone know why I cant transfer these?
