the best advice given to me was,

if you have a problem, the first thing to do is to switch off , wait 5 minutes and then switch back on again. it can work wonders!!!!!

Switching off and on is usually a good bet. But waiting 5 mins in between? Bit pointless really.

When in doubt, re-boot. Same with your iPhone and computer as well.
