Suddenly can't connect to the internet ~

I have had my iPad since May, of course still learning all it can do, but in the last week it quit connecting to the internet. I have wireless in my home, with no problem connecting on computers here, so what is going on? Shouldn't it connect automatically? I have gone into the settings and the iPad shows that it is connected to my wireless internet. Any ideas out there?
