The Spotify for iPad app is finally here! It’s a free universal app that also acts as an update for the existing iPhone app. The new iPad app features Retina graphics, high-definition album cover art, a new “Now Playing†full-screen view and AirPlay integration. 9to5 Mac notes that the Spotify iPad app has been totally revamped from the iPhone version, with a UI that is reminiscent of the Facebook iPad app. Other features include the ability to check out what’s hot and to find trending playlists and songs that your friends are listening to, an Inbox grouped by user to make searching easier, and gapless playback and crossfade. Although the app is fully featured, there are just a few aspects of the online service that have not made it to the iPad version, such as the Collection view. Well they may have taken their time getting an iPad app out, but it certainly looks like it was worth the extra wait! The introductory video at the top of this post is a lot of fun too.
