Hi again, another newbe question; I've tried search without success so here is my question.
When finished with the iPad is it better to Power Down or just allow it to 'Sleep'. My case has the 'Sleep' capacity but I wonder if when leaving the iPad for many hours, overnight and/or when not in use for a day or two which is the best option?
I did see the advice that one should allow the iPad to run right down once a month before charging to allow better results.
Thank you.

Agree w/ the previous poster, i.e. I virtually never 'power off' my iPad or iPod unless told to because of an iOS or app update - however, Apple does suggest the advice in your last statement above - this keeps the battery monitoring technology in the device properly calibrated so the battery status is reported correctly. :)

Thanks to you both for your replies which I believe may well be the general consensus held by most users. However I'd still like to know what 'Apple' advises if at all possible. One would have thought that a firm of such standing would make their instruction manual more clear and precise.
Thank you.

The information desired is readily available w/ a little searching, either in the forum (which is not part of Apple as already stated, as far as I know) or on the web - try this Battery LINK for some advice (and scroll to the bottom to see their monthly recommendation about discharging the battery). Hope this helps - in addition, there are other Apple support articles on LiIon battery technology - good luck! :)

Same asmost everyone here, I just let my iDevices sleep unless I have a real need to cycle power.
