Hi Darren,

There are various options available......I networked solution like a NAS drive, I use this one http://www.ipadforums.net/network-attached-storage-nas/74006-personal-cloud-storage.html but there are many others available.

This link will give you a general overview/guide to NAS http://www.ipadforums.net/network-attached-storage-nas/75895-what-nas-what-can-do-you.html

You can also go down the local network route, this consists of the likes of Airstash, GoFlex, CloudFTP (CloudUSB), etc.....here are some links for you.....

That looks pretty cool, it certainly shows it integrating with iDevices so you should be fine. My preference for the WD NAS drive was simply that a) I have never had any issues with WD kit and b) price, they are no more expensive than getting equivalent Ext HD's.

If that one fits your bill then go for it and enjoy.

There are many options, as Gabe has said.

I use the PogoPlug Series 4. I just hooked up a 1TB drive to its usb port, got the app on my iOS devices and my Android drives, put some content on the drive, and away I went. I can stream anywhere as long as both ends (one being my house) has good internet connectivity (this can be tricky -- hotel wifi is typically poor, IME, so you may not necessarily be able to stream).

I'm not sure I want to recommend this solution, however. It doesn't support your typical SAMBA/SMB share so I can't see it from my PC (unless I load their backup software -- but they had different software so I could always see it when I first got it - this company has been all over the map changing this and that - now they want you to pay them a fee to share any hard drive you have on the net) so I find it less convenient to use, though it still works with my mobile devices. I don't need to stream from this at home because I have like 40TB of ripped movies on a server. :)

What I like about this is you can add storage to it has you go...and you don't have to buy the big NAS box with limited storage. With something like the pogo, I believe I can add more storage.
