MCVUK writes that Lucas Pope’s hugely successful and critically acclaimed indie game Papers, Please is out on iPad today.
In the game, the player takes on the role of an immigration officer at a border checkpoint in a fictional dystopian country, Arstotzka.
The player has to try and keep their job in order to feed their family, and also try to avoid the temptation to lie in order to make extra money.
Other challenges of the job include possible terrorist attacks, dealing with pesky government inspectors, and trying to deal with families searching for lost loved ones.
Following the game’s release on PC last year, it won a whole slew of awards at the Independent Games Festival Awards, including the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. The game has also gone on to sell more than half-a-million copies on PC alone.
Lucas Pope previously worked on the Uncharted games at Naughty Dog.
