Try holding the power button and home button at the same time for awhile. Hopefully that will power cycle it and reboot it.

Sorry for the drama. My 10 month old iPad 2 seems to have died without warning. Headed on vacation in a couple of weeks and would like to have it along.

Will not turn on. Battery was charged. No response.

Is there a reset of some sort. Thanks for any help! Joe

Also try attaching charger to see if that awakens it.

Also try attaching it iTunes via USB.

As Seneca has indicated a hard reset as he describes is likely your best bet.

Sorry for the mentioned drama. It did reset as you outlined. WHEW! Going to Alaska and really want to use it to commuicate with.

Suggestion....

Close background apps.

Double press home button and task bar appears with recently used apps.

Long press any of them until it wobbles and displays a red minus sign.

Tap the minus signs to remove apps from RAM. This does NOT delete the app it removes it from background memory and frees up the resources for the iPad.
