no emails after changing account

    I deleted an email account and added a new one now the email app is empty. The app opens up but both sides are empty and it doesn't do a refresh (the wifi doesn't show any activity).
    Have tried all the forum suggestions of rebooting, stopping the app, etc but nothing works.
    I have heard that it might have created a blank messages folder and I should delete it and rename an existing folder but I don't know how to accees the folders on an ipad.
    I don't have access to a pc either
    Any suggestions?
