How can I eliminate an unwanted app? Dragging doesn't do the trick?

If you hold down the icon of the unwanted app until it wobbles then touch the red cross in the top right hand corner.

If you hold down the icon of the unwanted app until it wobbles then touch the red cross in the top right hand corner.

Actually it's an "X" in a black circle in the top left-hand corner of the icon. (The red circle with a "-" minus sign closes an app.) But then you knew that.
