I have a problem with my iPad 1, can I ask for help here? Or should I go to the iPad 1 discussion. Briefly when I am reading a book on kindle AP after a couple hours of reading the header and footer flash off and on and pages begin to turn rapidly. Thanks

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I've never heard of this and after a couple of hours reading, it's some sort of glitch. We have many kindle app readers here and hopefully they will be able to help you. Do you perform any maintenance on your iPad, like closing apps completely, restart/reset. Apps do play up occasionally and what better time than now, just after an update for the iPad and I would say the Kindle app has also only recently received an update. Do these steps and see if this makes a difference for you.

From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press an app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press all the minus signs, this will close the apps, not delete them, now press the home button to return to your screen. Closing all your apps completely will allow your iPad to run more smoothly, I do mine every night.

Restart - Press and hold the power off button, the one at the top right. You will see a slide appear to power off, slide this and the screen will go dark and a Whirly will appear. When the Whirly disappears your iPad is now off. Press the power button again until the Apple logo appears, this will take a few seconds and your iPad will restart. You should restart your iPad occasionally also as it will keep it running well.

Reset - Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Resetting your iPad is like rebooting a PC.

Let us know if these steps make a difference here, but I'd be interested to know if other members have experienced this also.

My theory is that a poltergeist has possessed the iPad. You see them doing this kind of think with paper books all the time (in the movies). Obviously this poltergeist is a geek as well as a speedreading bookworm.
