Medium is a blog-publishing platform which was founded by Twitter co-founders Evan Williams and Biz Stone back in August 2012. It has millions of iPhone and iPad users, as well, and now a very important update has been rolled out for them.
According to the official Medium blog post, you will now be able to publish posts directly to Medium from your iPhone or iPad:
The new mobile Medium editor makes it easy share your stories and ideas on the go and, similar to our new homepage editor, comes with a set of features designed to help you focus on your writing: titles are an option but aren’t required, there’s simple header and quote formatting, it features smart typography, and adding links and photos is a breeze. You can also use voice dictation to speak and write.
Mobile writing is a new frontier for Medium, and in this update we’re starting with a simple concept: one draft at a time. Your draft is saved locally on your phone and sent up to Medium.com when you choose to publish. There’s no draft sharing, syncing, or editing yet, but we know it’s an important part of writing, and we’re working on it!
Here's how the official changelog sounds like:
- Read short posts directly from your Medium home stream
- Quickly access your profile and writing stats
- Search
- Embedded media like Youtube videos and Tweets now display in post
- You can write from your iOS device now
