is there any others besides Zinio? I've had nothing but problems with that app lately, and I'm pretty upset paying for subs and the app not working right

Can you describe the problem you're having? This is a widely used app and although it gets mixed reviews most of those seem to relate to how up-to-date the magazines are that you receive.

Keeps crashing when I try to open. Or I'd get it open, try to sign in and it pops up saying some parts may not work. Its been a constant problem since the update. Reinstalling didn't help

OK - I'm sure you've tried this, so please forgive me for suggesting it...but just in case........

Restart the iPad. Press *and hold* the Power button. After a couple of seconds a slider control will appear asking you to confirm that you really want to switch the iPad off (this is all you’ll be doing). Slide the control to accept. A rotating white ‘bezel’ will appear in the iPad screen as the iPad powers down (it takes a few seconds, just like it would if you were shutting down your PC). When the screen of the iPad has gone completely blank, press *and hold* the Power button for a couple of seconds until the white Apple logo appears and the iPad starts to power up. This takes several seconds, so be patient. During the power up the automatic screen orientation function is disabled, so don’t panic. A few seconds before the power up is complete, the iPad plays a little ‘jingle’ and then you’re back to the Home screen. Restart the iPad’s app and see if the problem persists. Apple (and Forum members) recommend that you power down your iPad at least once a week, just as you might regularly completely switch off your PC. The normal procedure of just briefly pressing the Power button of the iPad merely puts it to ‘sleep’. Most Forum members have found that one of the two methods I’ve mentioned here cure a whole bunch of unexplained problems and are an easy first step to resolving most anything that happens on the iPad.

You don't get a little (short) jingle before the reboot finished? I wonder why I get that. Never thought about it - anyone else out there get a short 'jingle' (OK - sound) from their iPad during the reboot?

You say it doesn't take long - mine takes about 10 seconds...

Strange....

I noticed that this morning I've been working with only ½ my normal brain capacity - and that isn't saying much - I need to get a life; I spend too much time working on my iPad....

it may be in your settings, mine doesn't make a sound, and yea it's about 10 seconds. Zinio had some serious server problems lastnite, all seems well now. The question is for how long. Like I said before, this isn't the only time I've had a problem.

Yes, Zinio has on and off problems. Mines acting up at the moment.

Thing is, while there are lots of other individual magazine apps available, I don't know of any others that offer multiple magazines. And I'm not keen on just throwing away my subscriptions either.

There are probably going to be some changes to Zinio soon. They definitely fall under Apple's newly enforced subscription rules.

Drat drat drat: Just deleted the app in a final attempt to get it to work. Should have checked the web site first. They are down down down. Sigh. Not a huge loss, it just means I'll have to reload the magazines I want to read. If/when the site comes back to life.

Same here Zinio reader for iPad says - some part of the application may not be available now and to try later.

I loved the Zinio 3 reader for mac. After the Zinio 4 reader was introduced it seems they are in never ending bug fixes, be it for ipad or mac.

In the App Store description they say they're having problems upgrading their srvers. Doesn't seem affect the OS X version of Zinio though. I just downloaded and read the newest Macworld on my iMac.

Hope they get it fixed soon.

this problem they are having isnt due to some upgrade. something is really screwed up, and it just irks me with the blaise responses they are giving. they got some serious issues going on.

I just deleted and reinstalled the app, and now I can't even Log In
I find it very unprofessional to have servers down for more than a week. I will surely think twice before buying mag subscription from them in the future.

I cannot access the Zinio store or read newly delivered magazines. I hope this gets cleared up soon. I have had the problem since Wednesday
