I have a new ipad2. I can see the Videos folder but when I click the icon, the screen goes blank/black. I can see that a few videos have been synced onto the ipad2 but these do not show up and are unplayable therefore. I have started from scratch and restored the ipad2 software downloaded from Apple but the problem is persisting. Any brilliant ideas how to fix this or am I doing something colossally stupid?

Try a reset ~ hold the power button and the home button down at the same time until you see the apple logo. About 10 seconds or so. Then let it reboot. Let us know if this helped!

I've moved this to the Help section, too, because I think you might receive better attention there.

Like SweetPoison has said, do a reboot, hold the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time for 10 - 15 seconds and the power down screen will pop up (says slide to turn off on the top) but do not power down. Keep holding the sleep/wake button and home button and then it will reboot. The Apple Logo will appear which tells you the reboot was successful.

If the problem still persists then restore your iPad to an earlier time that the Videos were working.

I hope I helped you resolve your problem!

Hi , I had the exact same problem & this is what fixed it for me. Go to settings then general then to reset ,once in reset choose "reset all settings" this will reset iPad 2 to factory settings without loosing all your contents you have put on your iPad 2. Once it has gone through its process you will have to go through the reactivation process again & when you come to the options asking if you want to Backup from iCloud or iTunes I chose the 1st option which is "new IPad" or something like that. Once I did all that it not only fixed it but it also had all my apps & contents I had put on still there.
