Ipad wont sync or charge

When I try to sync the ipad to my computer (I have used this computer many times before to sync itunes) it says:
"The USB device attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it"

Also, when connecting to charge the ipad. It will not charge. Using the power supply it came with and using a car charger (2 of them) from the apple stor.

Any ideas?

I would try a reset (hold home and power). If it continues sounds like you may be in for a trip to the apple store.

Had this issue before its a problem with the connection on the ipad itself. I took mine back to the store they took it in the back and in 10 mins they brought it back out working.
