It’s been a while since we had one of these iPad-getting-smashed-but-still-working stories, and this is a pretty good one for everyone to enjoy, courtesy of TUAW. The iPad in question was run over by the front and rear wheels of a Chrysler PT Cruiser, and as you can see from the video above, despite the front glass being all crushed and cracked, as you might expect, the Home button is still working, the touch screen is still responsive, the on-screen keyboard is working fine, and the accelerometer still does its job too and turns the screen. Even more amazingly, the run-over iPad was not even in some sort of super-duper extra strong case, it was in a regular Apple iPad case. Would be interesting to know if the owner actually got it repaired, or just replaced, or what the Geniuses said at the Apple store if and when he took it there to be repaired!
