Believe it or not I have the exact same problem, with the exact same shipping/tracking info. Apple e-mail said delivered by the 8th and FedEx shipping said by this morning (9th) by 10:30 AM. Was looking good when it shipped on the 6th but after arriving in Lantau Island HK, it was in transit from there, and then it said it was back there again and hasn't changed for a few days... so impatient haha

I too and seeing the same thing. Received shipment notification on the 5th -- still waiting. FedEx tracking page still shows the iPad at the local FedEx facility in Lantau.

Unbelievable. I've always had issues like this with FedEx. They truly, honestly suck, in my opinion.

Yeah, your iPads are probably chillin' in HK (with the storm and all) and most likely sampling the excellent Dimsum too...yummy! :D

Kidding aside, I hope you get your toys soon.

Perhaps Apple has finally run out of iPads....

We know they've had production volume issues from day 1 due to unexpacted demand

Clearly our iPads have already been manufactured if we've received notifications they've shipped.

I know :) I was just trying to stir the paranoia pot a little.

Maybe they've discovered a production fault in the most recent run because they've increased production beyond capacity. Perhaps the last round of shipments have been recalled ... (STIR STIR STIR the pot)

Once my iPad left Shenzhen, it arrived pretty quickly. Sometimes the updating is a little slower but it actually is in transit. LOL @ stirring the pot. When I was waiting for mine to arrive in Canada, I was pretty anxious too. Checked several times a day to see where my new prized possession was. It was well over a year, since I first heard of their development and knew I wanted one, so a few weeks of yearning after pre-ordering to feel it actually in my hands was relatively short.

ok got it figured out, there is a special section in fedex that handles this direct shipment stuff. it got delayed in HK for one day she said. but she also said that it was in the usa but in customs...so it should take a little while there and then ship out tomorrow or friday. friday the latest. and for some unknown reason the website isnt being informed of all the changes. hope this helps!

    Same Here

Same shipping date, June 6th. Delivery date June 9th, 10:30. Now no delivery date. Has anyone asked FedEx what's up? You don't think the island has sunk with all the IPADs they have on it now?

Yes. Apparently the shipments left Hong Kong, went to Taiwan, and left Taiwan where they'll land in Anchorage, Alaska.

It will need to clear customs -- so I reckon our shipments are in customs as of current.

My iPad2 has been showing up on the tracking as being on that island now. Hoping it leaves there later today which I guess will actually be tomorrow over there as it's late PM there now. Can't really complain as I ordered it on Friday and it was engraved and shipped already by Monday. I've shipped thousands of packages by FedEx with no problems. Now if it was UPS or DHL I would be worried... If FedEx has a delay there is a legit reason such as a volcano eruption closing an airport. With UPS and DHL I'd routinely see missed delivery deadlines with no good reason for it.

In most of the developed world, namely, the UK, richer parts of the US and europe, UPS is the faster one, they handle more, they are on time more, granted either company can have issues with trucks or planes, as I ordered an ipad 1 in january and itw as delayed in hong kong for 2 days b/c of a flight issue. I just ordered an ipad 2 on march 11, engraved, so it won't ship til later this week, but my smart case and digital av adapter are in transit and in the local fedex facility in hk...ups has better customs efficiencies, they deliver on time, more of the time...the only reason fedex would be better is you're near the beginning of a residential route...mornings are business, or are am delivery ,which adds costs, so most people don't do it...I have had my fair share of both companies delivering, and both with am, or first delivery....by 10 30 am...etc...this was the ONLY TIME fedex came close to ups...beating them once in the 12 years I've been buying stuff on the internet....

Amazon uses DHL and Prestige shipping...both of which, I refuse to use as prestige ruined every package they have delivered (contractor drivers...meaning prestige handles to independent contractor who delivers)...dhl sits in your driveway for 15-20 mins..that's pissing me off...deliver it and leave..some things I buy are for the g/f...and a surprise...

I ordered two on Friday and both have yet to ship. I ordered them separately, and he fist was to be shipped in approximately 5 business days, which would be Thursday. For some reason, the second one was to be shipped in 1 to 2 weeks. I also ordered covers for each, and the second one has already shipped, even though the date of arrival changed from March 18 to March 22. I'm assuming he first one is delayed because it is leather. So it seems I will have a iPad2 cover to look at ... while I await the actually iPad2.
