imap.gmail issue on iPad 2

Hi,

For the past week or so I have been trying to retrive emails on my gmail account and the 'imap.gmail.com' issue pops up and is not responding.

How can I resolve this matter as I do not want to access my gmail account from safari, but rather prefer the easy way from the email client!

Go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars; select your account and delete it. Add it again.

There have been quite a few people with mail problems right after the iOS 6 update. This has fixed the majority of them.
