I'm afraid that the iPad 1 can only be updated to 5.1.1. Thats the last update for it. So any apps that require OS6 will not run on it.

There are still plenty of apps that can still be used however.

Yes Kiad, there are many many apps that work on 5.1.1. I am still running that on my iPad 3rd generation and have only found a couple so far that need iOS 6. Welcome!

Like you, one of my main reasons for buying an iPad was to use as a photo album.

She said there was an app that could make Apple system see the device as a iOS6 equivalent model. Unfortunately, she cannot remember what app she use. She will let me know if she recall it. I will share here if i succeed.

I have an iPhone 3GS and I've upgraded it to 6.1.3. These can be whereas an iPad 1 cannot. I've never heard of an app which can do this, I would be interested to know what this is. I sure hope she can remember what it was.
