I noticed that when trying to turn my volume up manually (pressing the button on the side) nothing happened, nor did the volume symbol appear. So, I trie double taping home and doing it, here's what it looks like. What do I do?

I don't know the correct answer but have you tried restarting the device? Sometimes issues like this can be resolved by restart. Also checking that you are up to date on software.

I did try that, it did not work. However about an hour after the volume just randomly came on. (and very loudly, at that. Haha)

Just do a basic maintenance every now and again. I like to delete cookies at least every 2-3 weeks, do a full run down of battery and full charge, and a clear out of unused items. Wether it helps with little blips I don't know but its just like a PC, you need to clear out to keep it working at full potential.

Glad it's all working again.

How would I delete cookies on the iPad, exactly?

You go to Settings>Safari and tap the Clear Cookies and Data button, then tap the Clear button in the pop up window.
