Get music library off computer and on to iPad?

I am having trouble getting my music library off my computer and on to my iPad. Do I have to authorize the iPad?

When you ask about having to "authorize" what do you mean? In order to sync your music to your iPad you need connect your iPad to iTunes and register and name your "new" device. After that is done you can configure the various tabs in iTunes that you want to sync to your iPad.
