When opening a link in FB, the link opens but I don't see a way to just go back to FB without restarting the app. Am I missing something?

If you double-tap the Home button it will open the multi-task bar. There you'll see all the apps that are running. You can return to any app that's listed in the multi-task bar by simply tapping its icon in that bar.

Sorry. As a new user, I'm impressed with some aspects of the iPad. This is not one of them. After using true multitasking with WebOS, this aspect of iOS is ponderous, as is Safari with the inability to simply close a web page from the page. I understand the new OS will actually multitask, and that many are already using it in beta. Will these kind of inefficiencies be addressed by the new OS?

The new Safari will have true tab browsing but for now check out some of the aftermarket ones. My favorite is icab mobile.
As a Windows and Android user, acclimation to ios was very painful and expensive for me. Everything seems like a work around, with few apps being free .
Once you accept the ipad for what it is, it is a nice machine
