The fifth instalment in the Dragon Quest series arrives in the App Store today for iOS.
Thought to be one of the best games in the entire series, Dragon Quest V: The Hand of the Heavenly Bride was first released in 1992 exclusively in Japan, but became a fan-favourite in Europe when it was finally released on Nintendo DS in 2009.
The storyline follows the adventures of a young boy on his journey to adulthood as he meets friend and foe alike. The plotline spans three generations, with the boy starting out on his travels with his father, Pankraz, and eventually ending up as a father himself.
If you’ve ever played any Dragon Quest game on any device or console, then you’ll know what to expect—classic hardcore RPG gameplay in a magical environment populated by much loved characters, including the legendary slimes!
As with all previous games in the series, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, was created by Yuji Horii, with music from Koichi Sugiyama, and game design by manga artist Akira Toriyama (of Dragon Ball fame).
