Hello,

I upgraded to iOS 7. When I push the start button, I have to slide to unlock.

Is there a way to disable this ? When I push a start button, I expect to start, not to do another handling. I am already so far that I don't have to enter a passcode, but I don't seem to be able to disable the slide.

I am afraid there is no way around this. You have to slide to "open" the iPad.

Well, there is a way, but you'd have to purchase a magnetic cover. Then, once activated, opening the cover will replace the "slide to open" function.

Sorry.

The purpose of slide-to-unlock is to prevent accidentally turning the device on (and draining its battery) while it's being carried in a bag or pocket. At least iOS 7 makes it easier, since you don't need to aim for the little slider but can swipe anywhere on the screen.
