Connecting to AT&T with new ipad - first time buyer

Can anyone provide me with information on how this is done? This will be my first Ipad and any assistance would be greatly appreciated in setting up my AT&T account on my ipad this evening when I get home from work?

Go into settings/cellular data/account. From there it will ask if you are a new user. follow the directions.
