It's very strange, the airport utility on my iPad doesn't not recognize my AirPort Extreme even though it is clearly connected to the network, but the utility on my iPhone sees it just fine. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the forum! :) Please provide information on your iPad model and iOS version installed - might be helpful. Of course, with the Airport Utility opened on your iPad, the attached screen capture below is what would be expected - what exactly are you seeing?

For starters, you can 'Force Close' the app and then re-open; if that maneuver does not help, I would 'Reset' the iPad and power recycle your modem and the Airport Extreme router - if those suggestions are unsuccessful, then delete and reinstall the utility app - let us know if any of these procedures works - directions below for several of the iPad suggestions. Dave

When an app (or several) are misbehaving, I usually go through the following steps:

1. Force Close - open the multi-tasking bar (double tap the 'home buttom’) - iOS 7.x/8.x - find the offending app - then press and drag to the top of the screen - return to the home screen & try again.

2. Restart - press & hold the 'Sleep/Awake' (a.k.a. power) button until a red slider appears (may take a few seconds) - move the slider to turn off the iPad; then press & hold the same button until the Apple logo appears - wait for a restart.

3. Reset - press & hold the 'Power' and 'Home' buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears - this may take a longer time, so have patience; the iPad will 're-boot' - NOTE that none of these maneuvers will alter your apps, files, or settings.

Tried all three things to no result. Changed the settings I needed to from my phone and figured I would deal with it later. Went away for a few days and came home today and everything is now back to normal. Guess the iPad just needed to forget that it forgot so it could remember.

Well, glad that you're back in business - thanks for the follow-up! Dave :)
