At the behest of my telephone company (TDS) I replaced a 12 year old Actiontec Modem/Router with a new "much faster" model,
Thus far, nothing but trouble:
1. Cannot pick up signal with I-Pad or I-Phone from 15-18 feet away. Old equipment was on lower level as far away as you could get and worked fine.
2 New Actiontec works fine on Laptop, and is much faster than old one. When it does work(on I-Pad or I-phone, it s also much faster as long as I am close to it.
3. Couple of questions: Any idea what could be the problem? Also, since old equipment is on lower level attached to an old desktop, is there any reason I can't use both and pick the signal I want depending in where I am in the house? If on the porch, use old guy, in proximity ( 15feet) use new guy? Kinda like the tortoise and the hare...
4. TDS is sending me a new piece of equipment in case that is the problem.
Any comments, suggestions, are mist welcome.
