I am a photographer who now uses my iPad to review images I download from my camera. Before the upgrade, I had no problems, I deleted those that I did not like them uploaded the others to my laptop and my 2imacs. Now with iCloud I am finding my photos duplicated many times. If I try and delete one the prompt says all will be deleted. I have turned off syncing photos on all my computers with iCloud. I thought that iCloud would make photo transfer easier. I am sure there must be a solution. Reviewing my time capsule data since the iOS upgrade, there are probably 8 copies of each image. Please help

Nobody knows exactly how iCloud works, so it may be a while before you get an answer.. Apple hasn't provided any details..

One thing you might try is to delete the photos on the stream. Log in to www.icloud.com . Once there, click on your user name on the top right side of the screen. The 'Account' window will open. On that window, click on 'advanced'. That will give you the option to reset the photo stream. That is SUPPOSED to delete the extra photos.. It doesn't do anything in my case.. The stream photos are never deleted, but if you're lucky, it might work for you....

Hm, do you have PhotoStream turned on for the iMacs? And since you are a photographer, you are probably using Aperture, yes?

Go into Preferences in Aperture, PhotoStream and turn off the Automatic Import and Automatic Upload options. Or just turn of Photostream all together. You've probably created some kind of loopback by both manually copying photos and having PhotoStream auto importing, and uploading stuff.

I have these two settings turned off, but leave PhotoStream on. Works well enough for me.

There are probably similar setting for iPhoto, but since I'm a version behind I can't test them.
