Zagg keyboard won't connect to iPad

I have a 3rd generation iPad and have used it with a zagg key board for about 4 years. I charge it when necessary, but now it has stopped linking with the iPad. When I plug in to recharge, the blue light comes on for a short while then goes off. No other light shows. Has it died now?

Will any other Bluetooth accessories connect with your iPad?
