G'day all
I'm a newbie to this sit and Ipads. I have had Iphones now for a few years and at present I am really enjoying my Ipad. My question is, why am I able to have a YouTube app on my phone, but I can't find one for the Ipad? Thanks in advance for any assistance that you may be able to give.
Regards
Bill

I'm confused. There is a YouTube app right there on the home screen.

Hi Kevin
Thanks for the reply. I don't have the Youtube app on my home screen or anywhere else. I tred the App store and all I can get are third party apps.

That is strange. Unfortunately, I'm not as clever as some people on here so I can't give you a nice red arrow pointing to the thing, but here's a screen shot of my iPad. The YouTube app is on the right of the second row.

Heya Bill
Scroll your screen to the extreme left until you get your "Search iPad" screen. Try typing in YouTube, and see if you get a brown old-school TV icon.
Let us know how you go.

That's good advice. It HAS to be there. It's a native app and can't be deleted. I wonder if Bill has inadvertently dragged it into a folder?

That's what I'm thinking. I 'lost' mine for a while... In one of my desktop-tidy sessions I conveniently put it in a folder called 'videos'. Had a panic, and then a face palm moment when I finally found it!

I just noticed I don't have YouTube on my iPad 2 as well. I'm sure it was there when I bought it at the beginning of the year. But I haven't used it in awhile. I went to use YouTube tonight and couldn't find the app icon anywhere on my iPad! I tried the search suggestion above from ChristianaR....but found nothing??? So strange!! Any answers yet?

If you have updated to iOS 6 it has indeed disappeared. Otherwise, it is somewhere on your iPad. As a native app it cannot be deleted.

Either it is disabled in Restrictions, or it's in a folder somewhere.

Settings/General/Reset/Reset Home Screen Layout will bring it out of hiding.

Apple removed the YouTube app with ios6, as its moving away from google products (as with googlemaps). Sad face.

I updated to ios6 tol. What i did was i just downloaded the iphone youtube to my ipad via app store. Its not full screen butvits better than having nothng! :))

That's exactly what happened in my case. I updated to iOS6 and it removed Youtube app.
Since then I'm watching Youtube within the browser (Safari and Chrome) and it seems impossible to remove the address bar and make it full screen.
That's really annoying.
I also installed the official Youtube app. but I think it's for iphone originally and even if you make it 2X, it still is not in full screen.

My daughter gets crazy!
Any help (on full screen issue) will be highly appreciated.

UPDATE:
Here's the solution (in my case).
I run the browser (Safari), went to youtube.com, and LOGGED IN to my youtube account.
Now I have the full screen back!

Tried it again without logging in >> the same thing = no full screen.

Hope this helps in your case too.

Use youplayer or Jasmine for YouTube video. Both are free and play in full screen on the iPad.
