Yahoo email cannot get mail "connection to server failed"

Started to get this message on my iPad Mini at 2.00pm today. No emails received since then but wifi and Safari working normally. I can access my email on my laptop no problem but not on the iPad. I'm not computer savvy so could anyone please help me with simple non tech instructions! I would be really grateful!

Hi, susie123! Welcome to iPF!

First of all try this: delete the account on your iPad in Settings - Mails, Contacts, Calendars. Set it up again afterwards. In most cases this will help solving email problems.

Thanks for prompt reply Johanna. I know I'm thick but if I delete the account will any data, photos etc on the emails be lost? And when I reopen the account will everything I had still be there?

You won't lose anything. When you reinstall the account, it may need some time to show all the emails again, but everything should be there afterwards.
