Words With Friends on both iPad and iPhone keeps crashing

Keep getting a message that says "Updating....This may take a few minutes" and then it exits the program. I have tried shutting down and then coming back. I have also deleted the program and reinstalled it (several times) and it still won't work. I've been a user of WWF for quite a long time and I have never experienced such frustration. Anyone have any suggestions?

my games have crashed near the end 3 or 4 times, very frustrating. Not all games crash. I just go to "launch" when partner plays a word, and nothing happens. Just get a screen with no letters played. This last time had only 2 letters left. GRRRRR!

Hi to the both of you and welcome to the Forum!

With regards to your question I play Word with Friends also, and since the last update it has been a little flaky at times. When an app behaves strangely it is best to close it completely and then relaunch it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar along the bottom. It will show all the apps that you have opened at one time or another. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly, I do mine every night. Check and see if it is operating now and let us know.

I've been experiencing major crashing issues with Words as well, on both the paid and free versions of the iPad app. It tells me that it's updating and that it will take a few minutes, but it then crashes. I've killed the app from the multitasking bar, killed every other app, and deleted and reinstalled the app (paid and free) several times. No luck. Thankfully the iPhone app works fine so I can still cccontinue my games, but during the evening I use the iPad a lot more than the phone. Anyone have any advice?

I have deleted and reloaded both versions free and paid and I can't get either to load. Says its updating then crashes. It works on my iPhone and husbands kindle... Help I want my game back!

I really think this is a problem with the app, ever since their last update it's been giving me trouble. I have to close it completely to then get it to load the games. I've been getting a light blue screen also with the chat window loaded. I think that we should all get in touch with the Developer and tell them what's happening.

I am having the exact same issue and have done all of the same things to try to get it to work. It is currently not working on my iPad but is working on my iPhone and iPod touch. Initially when I installed it a few days ago it worked beautifully. Any help would be appreciated.

I too have been having the same issue with WWF for the past 24 hours. I have deleted, reinstalled (both free and paid versions). I have emptied my cache; I have closed all apps. Nothing has resolved the issue. It still says "updating may take a few minutes" then closes. I have also contacted the developer and have not received a reply. Any suggestions would be appreciated however I believe this is a bug in the software from an upgrade and it can only be resolved by the developer.

Well now it's not working on my iPhone either . I too have contacted the developer but no response. At least seeing that others are having same problem, hopefully we will all get a fix soon.

...and same here with nothing new to add. Both iPhone4 and iPad2 (both running iOS 5.0 and WWF 4.10 just stopped working. Will start to load but then crash. My wife's iPad2 with same configuration IS working, and I can play the game via Facebook on either PC or MAC......very odd. I am almost wondering if there isn't a server problem on Zynga's partthat is having trouble with the accounts/games that are played on that particular rig? But then again, it seems OK when I sign in via a PC as opposed to a mobile device.

Got a pop up saying client repaired about3 hours ago and now the app keeps crashing. Do the developers test this stuff first?
