My wife is partially sighted and can only read by using iBooks with full brightness and very big fonts. She is keen to start reading the Alex Cross series of books by James Patterson but none of the early ones are on iBooks.Does anybody know why that is and is there any other way she can get them.We are in the uk so on uk iBooks.

Have you considered seeing if they're available for the Kindle? The app is free in the AppStore. Books can be bought from the Kindle store and downloaded to the app.

I don't know specifically about his books, but in general:

Writers often work with different publishers during their careers and sign contracts with varying terms. So he might've signed a contract allowing an earlier publisher certain rights and that publisher might not be publishing ebooks, or be might not be publishing digital versions of older books. Publishers pick and choose according to their resources what they'll republish. Some publishers don't even have books from their back catalogs in easily publishable form because of tech advances and changes in formats over the years.

You might do a quick search for his contact info and ask him, his agent or publisher directly.
