What's new

What are you guys doing right NOW??? ;)

Can you expand on that answer please? Remember , I'm still in the iPad for DUMMIES stage!

If the Flash Drive is formatted exactly like it would be coming from a Camera, you can use the Camera Connection Kit.

Otherwise you'll need to copy it to the laptop using whatever built in or USB flash card reader you have. Once there you can either use iTunes on the computer to sync an album, or copy it to the iPad using an app like Photo Manager Pro (for a separate app/album), PhotoSync to the Camera Roll, or a general file app like GoodReader.

Or you can use a cloud service like DropBox.

There are also some hardware wi-fi devices going around that you can use to read Flash Cards without a computer. Gabriel was reviewing the Apotop Wi-Reader. His thread is worth looking over: http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-connect/109434-apotop-wi-reader-wireless-reader-router.html

It's going to depend on what you want to do with the photos once they are on the iPad, and what features you'd like to used to view them; but there are lots of ways to do what you want. The specifics are better handled in a thread dedicated to that subject when get around to trying to do it, so that we can tailor the method to what you're wanting to do with the photos.
