What's new

What are you guys doing right NOW??? ;)

I've got to the point where dropbox is getting full and I need to find a way to sync dropbox to my Box account which has 50gb of space. Dropbox is great!
Oh and Richard, if you download Mailbox, you get 1GB FREE. You just have to link Mailbox to Dropbox.

Hi there Hayles,
How are you? Enjoying the holidays?
I'm having great fun trying to install Dropbox on the PC. The set up programme starts up, then vanishes for no reason! I got 3 Dropbox setup exe programmes downloaded! Hopefully all will be OK when I restart the PC.
I'm currently checking the control panel to see if I can get the box to dropping! ;)

Grrrrrr......

Cheers my friend,

Richard

What other apps gives you free GB? I love this app as I upload all my photos into it. I have lots of apps linked and friends invited. How do you get 56GB? I don't want to pay for it. I have enough outgoings at the moment.

My holiday is nearly over Johanna! We go back beginning of September.

Each time you invite a friend to Dropbox, you get 500 MB. Enable Camera Upload in the app, and you get another 3GB.
I just recognized that I got 48 GB just because my Samsung Galaxy S 3 also uses Dropbox, this will end in September next year.

You get 125 MB extra when you connect your Facebook account or Twitter to Dropbox, or follow Dropbox on Twitter, or if you give them feedback.
I have an endless list of apps connected to Dropbox. It seems I was wrong assuming that they give me more space.

Yes, it's interesting some of these program's are stubborn little cusses. My MBA is a bit sluggish in Safari. Not sure why. I've updated it so that's not it. I was looking at the problems the new MBA's have with wifi. I have to reset my router every so often.

We start that day too, Johanna. Two inset days to get boring old info and then setting up the classroom for the little darlings to come back and settle down from their holidays. That takes a few days lol. Mine are little older than yours so you can imagine! Teenagers with hormones.

Well that's why I only have 6.6GB! I've intro'd friends, twittered, face booked and now Mailbox has given me more, thank goodness! Our holiday last week took 700 photos. I can't believe I took that many!!!! We went to 5 National Trust homes, Dawlish Warren(which wasn't my choice at all!!! Too commercialised). And of course shopping for the new term. Have you got all your new coloured pens and pencils, stickers etc...?

We start on Monday, with our students. On the first day we'll only go to church, then tell them what they need the next day, and the official school day for the children is over.
The teachers hold a meeting, which usually will last until noon.
Lessons will start on Tuesday (just 2 hours that day). The first two weeks always are the most busy ones.

Oh, we don't get them back until Wednesday. We have two inset days on Monday and Tuesday and that is mainly for paperwork, GCSE results, new info, classes etc... It's amazing how fast those two days go by.

They really do.

I'll have to get used to teaching two grades at once, again. My fourth grade students will have to be prepared for the next school, while I also have to teach third grade. That's demanding.

Well, so far I'm sharing the load with another HLTA so I'm teaching year 11's and year 9's but I expect I'll be teaching year 10's later on. It depends on their behaviour. SEN students can be difficult to control in a large classroom so I take out up to 12 students and teach them for the year. Sometimes students go back to the main classroom if their ability or behaviour improves. I try not to think of myself as the dumping ground teacher but it can feel like it. If I have real trouble with a student though, I can refuse to have them. After all, the teacher is the boss and I am after all only a higher level teaching assistant but I do get treated like a teacher. I love my job most of the time!

I've done this for 14 years! Gulp! Time flies!

The teachers you're helping will certainly be very grateful for your help. I would be in their situation.

This year will be my 30th as teacher. When I started, that seemed so far away!

It's just great how we have such talented and dedicated teachers on this forum. Entertaining posts to read actually. Have another great school term!:)

Testing out my new running shoes and going out for a spin...indoors on the track! It's been a long day at work--need to get some steps in! ;)
