Yes, I certainly am! Most of the women that were willing to tell their stories were all over fifty and lonely enough to believe what these guys told them. The guy always had a good reason why he had to cancel showing up! Some women went to the airport after sending the guy money for his ticket, and he was a no show. Some women have let these relationships go on for over a year! Or even two! I am surprised you are surprised, but then I remember who I am replying to and you are so kind hearted you would never consider something like that! I was shocked when I watched that Dr Phil episode! I thought WHO would believe this junk? But then I saw them with my own eyes!

Cheers , It must be the loneliness that drives them to want to be a part of something , maybe even a relationship that has a foundation on a financial value seems like a relationship to them , to perhaps ease the isolation they feel .
On the flip side however , people are evil for taking advantage of someone's emotional feelings and use money to string along the fallacy of a relationship . Maybe the victims lack the understanding of their own vulnerabilities and don't recognise when their good will is being abused . I haven't seen the program you mentioned ( we don't have tv services in this house ).

Well, sadly most of the biggest ripoffs come from Nigeria! When I was in Africa, in Mali where Timbuctoo is, the poverty and starvation is so bad and the Gov't's are very corrupt, the infant mortality rate is 75% , some of them think all Americans are very rich, live in Mansion's and have servants, because that is how the USA patriots live over there. It is extremely hard to explain. When I came home ( B.C. Can.) I couldn't talk or even eat for the first two days because the shock of the affluence, the waste was such an extreme difference I had culture shock.

I've heard a lot about a few cons originating from Nigeria , it happens here a lot , Nigerian property scams , depositing Money etc ...
I actually believe for some people that the wealth they exude is a mere illusion at times , it's not always money of their own that they parade , money on credit , money on securities , a mere facade to maintain social credibility
There's a saying here ; "fool and their monies are soon departed ".
& " if it's too good to be true , it probably is !".
We do waste a lot , as a developed group of countries we consume & waste so much , the saying " ignorance is bliss " rings true .

Andy, I didn't think I could explain it but you are very intuitive and actually understood what was so hard for me to explain! Thanks for that! Although in Africa, the ex-pats get everything flown in from the US and everything looks so expensive to these poor, poor people. So many people are suffering in so many ways we have NEVER heard of! I will post some photos if I can get the scanner working! The last two tries didn't work. It is in a different room and so hard for me to get up, lay down, get up lay down, etc. I used to take so much for granted! And my suffering is NOTHING compared to what those people have to endure!

We live in extreme times , where a civilisation becomes rich both wealth & in health I fear its inevitable that they should come at the expense of others . Some pay a too high a price ,more developed societies disregard those that suffer for our successes.
Even as we speak , support & aide heads out to those struck down in the storms , but the hidden agenda are those that thrive on devastation . People , logistics , administration , all these & more profit from the misery others endure .
Barbaric countries with failed governments , 3rd world environments where so much good could happen to improve their lives , yet nothing is done .
The extremes are provocative .

Away for awhile, but revisiting here. Just put in an order for an iPad Air 128gb, for pickup in the morning. I've been meaning to buy one, but thought the backlog for delivery ridiculous. I checked back on Apple's website today and saw that the 128gb was available for pickup near me, so tap, tap, order placed.
