The highest snow piles are almost 6' high.

Unfortunately, the snow is too powdery and dry to make snowmen.

Well they do look like they would tower over me! I'm 5ft 2in. Awesome.
My hubby says that in 1975 they were 15 - 30ft high. All the cars in the high street were under the snow and you couldn't see the hedgerows. Very disorientating. Up North is were most of the snow drifts are this year.

I'm 181 cm. They'd be even higher than me.

It's hard for me to imagine 15 - 30 ft high snow. The highest I can remember was perhaps 2 m. And only because the snow was carried to piles by the wind.

I do remember going to and from school, uphill both ways, in chest deep snow, during a raging blizzard. When I tell the story again - I'm certain the snow will be a chin level.
