Of course we do.From the moment the children join school they learn English, beginning with simple phrases. Some take additional lessons.
Schools in many countries teach English from a young age, Japan is another example.

I am a Higher Level Teaching Assistant which means I take small groups (should be up to 12 students but I do cover supply as well which means up to 30). I teach those groups GCSE Science and recently BTEC Science Level 2. The students are mainly lower ability with special needs eg, dyslexia, autism, literacy and numeracy. I love my job but it can be stressful. I plan lessons with the teacher and we differentiate the lesson to their abilities. I find two minds are better than one. I have 14 years of experience with ages from 10/11 - 16 year olds. Loads of hormones, bad behaviour and swearing but I generally have a good rapport with them. You have to earn their respect, not just tell them what to do and expect them to listen. I also assist in the lesson with the teacher. It's called team teaching.
I'm having trouble at the moment as my main science teacher has left and I'm now in supply teacher hell which is very stressful for me and the kids. Some adults haven't quite got the idea that I'm useful and ignore my experience to their detriment. Kids can't cope with change and misbehave to make up for it. Any feedback whether positive or negative is good.
I love my job most of the time especially when I'm going on Easter holiday next week for two whole weeks!!! Lol.
