Want to add media to VLC but my apps list is empty

I've just installed VLC on my iPad and wanted to move media across to it. The VLC instructions say to select the iPad, switch to the APPS tab, scroll down and look for VLC. Despite having loads of apps on my iPad, when I click on the one APPS tab I have (in the top section), it only shows up one app, which is my subscription to a magazine. I've no idea what I'm doing wrong and why I can't see the other apps. Can anyone help please? I've uploaded a screenshot of the section from my iTunes page to give you a visual on this.

Scroll further down the page and you'll see another section called File Sharing. This is where you select apps, and add/remove documents.
