G5 Entertainment (Supermarket Mania, Stand O’Food) has today launched the HD version of its popular iPhone game, Virtual City, for the iPad. Virtual City combines a robust city-building simulation with intuitive, easy-to-understand controls. In the game, players build and develop the city of their dreams, whether suburban utopia or bustling metropolis. You start with just a few residential homes and buildings, and build your city up from there. As their cities grow, players can produce and transport goods, create mass-transit systems, and entertain their city’s population with parks, cinemas, stadiums and events. And in order to keep the citizens safe and healthy, the player must also provide basic services such as health care, public safety, waste collection and recycling.

This new HD version of the game includes the brand new Sandbox Mode, which enables gamers to build away to their heart’s content, and do precisely whatever they feel like across five large maps.

You can download the game from the App Store here for a rather pricey $9.99/Ă‚ÂŁ5.99, or you can try the free HD version here.

Yep, screw them, especially with the iPad version of Sim City Deluxe around the corner.
