Cnet’s Crave blog reports that it seems that it’s not just AT&T Apple customers that have connection problems. According to Crave, owners of Verizon’s Wi-Fi and 3G iPad 2 (all memory types), have been posting on Apple’s support forums about how they are having to reboot their iPad 2s if they want to connect to 3G after having previously turned the 3G off. The Apple Support Discussion board has six pages full of complaints on the issue, with many users reporting problems with 3G connections either being very slow to get going or simply not getting going at all without having to perform a reboot when the previously deactivated 3G function is reactivated. Some people on the board say that even the Geniuses at the Apple Genius Bar have been flummoxed by the fault. Others have had their iPad 2s replaced in store, only to find exactly the same problem happening all over again with their new iPad 2 when they got it home. Several posters on the board have made suggestions to help others work around the issue, with NYYRule suggesting that those having connection problems should simply keep 3G turned on all the time, and put the iPad 2 in airplane mode when they don’t want to use the 3G, rather than deactivating it. The poster says that when you turn airplane mode off and try to connect via 3G, it should work perfectly without you having to reboot.
