Thanks everyone for the suggestions. By coincidence we had a friend today who visited who has an Iphone. He found his location and sure enough about an hour later I was able to use location services. I had to reboot the Ipad but it worked. The only problem is that the address is about a mile away. In other words the "target" on google earth and the "pin" on maps has the right location but the label/postal address is incorrect. Is there any way to correct this?
Thanks again everyone.
This is just a problem with the postcode system, particularly in remote areas. I have a GPS iPad and, therefore, the position I get is precise but, if I enter my postcode, it shows a place about a mile away.
