Two accounts, one iPad?

Please help me, I am using my son's old iPad. I have my own iTunes account. Can I have both my son's and my own accounts on the same iPad? And if yes HOW?

Yes you can use two iTunes accounts, however only one can be logged into the store at a time. Purchases will be made against the current account. Updates will request the password from the account that purchased the app.

This can get a bit annoying to work with. At work, my assigned Ipad once belonged to another employee. The device incessantly prompted me to sign into Itunes. The problem was that his apps, needing updates, would only update with his apple id. I had to delete all of his apps to make the prompts go away.
