TV catchup in non UK countries

I would like to use tvcatchup here in Spain but it is not possible??? without a UK IP address.
I have read about various solutions to this problem but they all seem fraught with piracy, viruses etc.
Is there a good and safe way to use this in my Ipad

The BBC will be issuing an iPlayer app very soon that will be available outside the UK on a subscription basis. Alternatively, some BBC TV series are available for download from the iTunes store TV programmes section but, again, I'm not sure what is available from the Spanish iTunes store. However, if you were to open an account with the UK iTunes store, those programmes would be available to download. You do, of course, though need to pay for them - they are not free.
