iPad in-store Trade-in Program Expands to More Countries

A while ago, we've seen Apple extend its in-store trade-in program to include iPads, as well. Now, the recently introduced service is expanding beyond the US and Canada, as various reports are coming in saying the iPad trade-in program is now available in France, UK, Spain, Germany and other countries, as well. Until now, however, Apple hasn't issued an official statement on this, so we don't know exactly which are the countries where it's now possible to trade in your old iPad.

Apple today is expanding its iPad trade-in program to retail stores in several European countries, including France, Germany, Spain, and the UK. As spotted by Apfelpage.de and iPhoneAddict.fr, the program allows customers to recycle older iPad models at their local Apple retail stores and provides them with credits they can use towards the purchase of new devices. Apple launched the iPad program last month in the U.S. and Canada on Earth Day as part of a larger green initiative to help consumers recycle old iOS devices. Customers can visit Apple retail stores and trade in their iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4 and iPad mini for store credit. The newer iPad Air and Retina iPad mini are not yet eligible for redemption.

The service is part of Apple's Reuse and Recycling initiative and lets users bring in their old iPads and trade them in for store credit. Of course, the newer and better your iPad is, the more money you will get that you further use for the purchase of a new iPad version. Apple stores are accepting iPads 2, 3 and 4, and original iPad mini units, as you won't be able to trade-in an iPad Air or Retina mini. Of course, your iPad has to been in a good condition, which means it has to turn on, don't have cracked screens and not to be jailbroken.


The iPhone trade-in program first launched in August of last year and has extended recently to cover iPad devices, as well. Do you plan on trading-in your old iPad this year?
