I just got hold of a great application PENZU - to write diaries and journal entries - but am keen to use my native language. With the iPad set to English (needed in other programmes indeed) I am being endlessly frustrated with the prompts to translate words. And even worse, it auto-corrects all my poetry...hahaha PLEASE help.

Here's a couple of pointers. Touch the pictures to view them full screen.

Thanks a lot. The thing is, I can indeed turn it off via General Settings but then it's turned off for all apps. I would love to be able to only turn it off for that one app where I use my native language.

... if it is always exactly what it seems, there is little need to be anyone but who you are...

It is up to the app. If there is no setting in the app then the system settings apply.

As far as I know only some of the word proccesing apps have thier own settings. Pages will let you turn off spell check in it's settings under the tool/wrench icon.
