Transferring Photos from a usb Camera

I have purchased a Apple Lightning USB Adapter, the instructions say to import photos from a camera turn on ipad and attach the lightning to USB camera adapter to the lightning port? where on the iPad is the said port?

It's the port where you plug in the charging cable.

it is much smaller, then the charger, should there be another part to it? I paid £21 for it so I would be very upset if I have to pay out more!!

Your iPad 3 won't work with the lightning adapter. You'd need a Camera Connection Kit.

I don't suppose they are cheap, which ipad does the one I have just bought fit.

iPad 4 and iPad mini, afaik, are the ones that have a lightning adapter.

Is it too late to return it for a refund? You could explain that you accidentally bought the wrong accessory.

I think it is too late, it will teach me to check before I buy, as a 75 year young pensioner I am quite proud at mastering the iPad but pride does come before a fall.

Thanks I now know which one to buy. I sold the Lightning Adapter Straight away on EBay so will now purchase the correct one.
